Three Rivers Optical Exchange: regional network
aggregation point providing high speed commodity and research network access
to sites in Western and Central Pennsylvania.
-
Networking at the Pittsburgh Supercomputing
Center:
-
Support for LAN, MAN and WAN production, research and experimental networks.
-
Network research projects focusing on nework support for distributed applications.
-
Web100: a project focused on
providing the software and tools necessary for end-hosts to automatically
and transparently achieve high bandwidth data rates (100 Mbps) over the
high performance research networks. This project is a collaboration with
NCAR and NCSA and is funded by the NSF and Cisco.
-
Net100: The Net100 Project is creating
software that allows computer operating systems to adjust dynamically to
network conditions. Net100 is funded by a three year grant from the Mathematical,
Computational Sciences Division in the Office of Science at the U.S. Department
of Energy.
-
TheQuilt: a UCAID Project
whose participants are non-profit advanced regional network organizations
dedicated to advancing research and education in the United States
