ABAQUS Maintenance

License/Access

Three separate access control lists are maintained: academic, ALCOA, and USX. ABAQUS startup files are located in /usr/local/abaqus/abaqus55/site. The respective startup filenames are startup.stp, alcoa.stp, and usx.stp. Related acl files are abaqus.psc.acl, abaqus.alcoa.acl, and abaqus.usx.acl.

Status

960325 Marta Martinez, Tulane, requested maintenance of the 5.4 fileset until she has completed her current set of experiments, on or about 1-jun-1996.

960208 Version 5.5 installation completed. Current license expirations are 3/31/96 for CMU, 6/30/96 for Alcoa, and 12/31/96 for USX.

960202 Version 5.5 received. Versions 5.2 and 5.3 uninstalled on C90. Current license expiration is 3/31/96.

950327 Version 5.4 installation announced.

950323 Version 5.4 installation completed. Alcoa and CMU licensing updated. Current license expiration is 3/31/96 for CMU and 6/30/95 for Alcoa.

950119 Version 5.4 received. Version 5.3-1N installed on C90. Current license expiration is 3/31/95.

950901 Added users saadeghv and herabat to the startup file. Sublicense agreements received from Allocations.

950815 Added user doehring to the startup file.

950608 Added user lzhang3 to the startup file.

950601 Added user thomasb to the startup file.

950321 Added user villara to the startup file.

950301 Added user hcook to the startup.stp file.

950207 Added user danderso to the startup.stp file.

950201 Added user yqin to the startup.stp file.

950130 Installed new USX startup file per FAX from Bianculli to Lambl dated 1/30/95. USX license expires 12/31/95.

941122 Added USX employee Steven J. Bianculli (username biancull) to the acl for usx.stp. Access to ABAQUS-Explicit is prevented by keywords within the startup file.

941031 Called HKS; Mike Shubert faxed performance figures for ABAQUS 5.2 and 5.3. Figures given as times rather than Mflops. Will run benchmarks to check our performance against that documented by HKS and to determine Mflops.

941027 Added user jchen3 to ABAQUS 5.3. Sublicense number arbitrarily assigned as 1000.

941026 Historically, Joel, Michael, and Susheel ignored the sublicense number.

941021 Received access from from user jchen3; inquiring into what we do about the "sublicense number".

941011 Mail sent to HKS requesting ABAQUS performance figures.

941010 Low C90 performance (16-19 Mflops) reported for user Sinisa Mesarovic's runs, which were in the top 10 for last week.

941006 User jchen3 inquired about access; waiting for his or her access forms.

940912 Added user biegler.
