Adding users

Access to file mario:/usr/local/ansys/ansys51/bin/AUTH.51 and mario:/usr/local/ansys/ansys51/bin/AUTH-UNV.51 is restricted by acl files /usr/local/acl/ansys51.acl and /usr/local/acl/ansyscom51.acl: 
  cd /usr/local/ansys/ansys51/bin
  spacl -a /usr/local/acl/ansys[com]51.acl
  spset -a /usr/local/acl/ansys[com]51.acl AUTH-UNV.51 [AUTH.51]
  spget -ae AUTH-UNV.51 [AUTH.51]

Contacts

The ansys51/source/ansys51.c file can be compiled to produce an executable called ansys51/bin/ansys51 that sets all required environment variables explicitly. The ansys51 script (ansys51.orig) sets the ANS_DIR variable as required, but not the ANSLOG area.

Status

960304 Installed version 5.2 for PPG (user siskos).

951030 Installed new university licenses on the C90 and the J90s. New C90 licensing supports a wavefront dimension of 1500. Default university license (J90s) supports 500.

951025 Installed new corporate license for Westinghouse.

950712 Constructed commercial installation for odonnell.

950524 Westinghouse 30-day authorization update.

950427 Westinghouse 30-day authorization update.

950327 Version 5.1 upgrade announcement.

950324 Westinghouse 30-day authorization update - probably resulting of the conversation Sherin had with Gene Poole (CRI). First notes from Poole received 3/23.

950322 Westinghouse 30-day authorization installed.

950221 Version 5.1 installation completed. Westinghouse commercial licensing and CMU university licensing issues, as well as all file protections and setup were resolved this date. Only the authorization files reside in UNICOS. Links to AFS handle all other files/directories.

950214 The 5.1 file installation was completed this date. The installations must be massaged around so that Unicos ACLs can be used to protect the authorization files and executables before announcing the upgrade. AFS residence combined with the use of xterm implies that system:anyuser access to the bin directory is required.

950119 Version 5.1 tapes received. Versions 4.4A and 5.0 installed on C90. Version 5.0 on-line documents not installed??? USX has access to version 4.4 ONLY.
